Tara, when the Goddess brought those eyes
Out of her magic chest of jewels
And gave them to you she must have hesitated and held them
Close to her heart for a moment;
How could she bear to part with anything so precious?
But some things must needs be...
Perhaps a vast part of the human mind
Needed some way to focus on love
And those eyes would provide ways...
Those eyes could see so far with such accuracy...
Could see unhindered by boundaries of time...
Could see in worlds where seeing is illegal...
Could see in worlds where seeing is considered Immoral...
Could see truth amidst pain and persecution
Could believe -- even in a world insane
Could see love through cement and steel
Could find the way to the heart in utter darkness
I was stumbling around one day when
I came upon those eyes
I knew they were Her eyes
How was it a mortal had them?
And then I realized She was in you
Looking out upon the world..
What a blessing to wander through that sacred grove
With you and Ruth and Shannon that day...
And some time later to receive the letter
You wrote while sitting in the corner of a room
Surrounded by your friends
Who were wildly partying
You had promised me a letter
And you wouldn't even let yourself join them
Until you had finished it.
I wonder where you are now...
Wherever you are humanity will be running, dancing
Churning like clouds forming and melting in the sky
And souls will be birds rushing with wild winds
To breathe upon passion's embers, sweet memories,
Brighter than jewels, in mist and smoke obscured,
Guideposts to the heart divine
